Congrats Graffy!

This fish was measured at 39" and weighed 16 1/2 pounds. There is no jealousy here. I just like to be realistic. I'd say my fish has quite a bit of girth on those fish.

While this second one was measured at 35" and weighed 12 3/4 lbs.

While I know the bashing gets tiresome, I have always been a guy about facts. Its probably not a good thing, but it's just how my brain works.

All bashing/debate aside, his fish are nice pike.

Oh and this 26" walleye sorry no weight it was badly hooked so I want to get him back in the water

And yes I also agree his are very nice fish and bigger than mine. I love fishing out there and think it would be fun to met up with some of the people from this forum out on the water.

I really think to guestimate a fishes weight, is to look at its girth first, before you look at its length. There are a lot of snakey pike out there.

If I caught that fish it would have easily been pushing 20, maybe 25lbs.

Nice fish.

Great Fish! I need to get back out there.

As for the weight debate
Here's a couple fish from Wab. all were put on a scale.
The first one is 16 pounds 11 oz
the second one is 13 pounds 9 oz
the third one is 14 pounds 2 oz
With practice you can judge weights fairly close (usually within a pound). I find most people over estimate the weight of Northens by A LOT.

Graffy91.. i will give you your est on you last pic posted it is over 40 inches in my opinion as the fish is at a angle in pic and your tape is 38 inches long and you can see that is is longer.. so guesstomating = 40.5 inches if you pinch tail.. nice fat pike in good condition /post spawn.. on your weight of around 20# i agree.. but others can check it out at this site..http://www.csgnetwork.com/fishfreshwtcalc.html
to added to pic's here is a differn,t pic of a 40 incher with the Fishinggeeks at Wab(thanks Sean) and afew of a 47 incher myself as someone asked for a 30#er its 32#5oz..

i also have a entry form of a 2010 pike 20.5 that is 42 inches that i just pull up from here as i am the Fishchair for my local club www.Hintonfishandgame.ca..

but all in all i do agree with you and you had a great time catching those so enjoy and don't take this internet banter as anything other than that..

Great fish and my your next Pike be a Monster
