Took the survey ...thanks man!
I think 1 under 40 cm is ok but they need to get rid of the 1 over 40 as its much easier to stock fish under 40 imo.
Cheers

Why not make it catch and release only for a couple of years? Should change things in a hurry.

I like catch and release as well. I have taken my kid and our friends there and we all get skunked.

Forgive my ignorance but I didn't see it noted anywhere. Is this the Beaver lake in between Caroline and Sundre?

Yup, that's the one. If you go to the link, it gives quite a bit of background there.

Cheers.

Default About time..

This once awesome fishing spot has been getting raped for the last three years. I think it should be hook and release as well as fly fishing only. Bait huckers go to Struble and take all you want.

I hope you guys are doing the survey and or perhaps contacting Fisheries management in Rocky Mtn. Hse. to give your opinion.

It doesn't do much good to come on here and complain if the people who make regulation changes don't hear it.

There is an aeration system and some other improvements to the Beaver lake fishery. These are payed for by the ACA with money that comes from ALL Alberta fishermen. So the ACA has in the past not been too keen on total catch and release regulations on the lake.

All alberta anglers pay for the project so all alberta anglers should benefit. And that means the family group that wants to go some place where everyone has an opportunity to catch a fish and they can eat a few. As well as the fellow who wants to go somewhere that he might catch a trout as long as his fore-arm to brag about.

I know some will say "let the meat fishermen go to Struble and kill their limit."

Then I say "let the C&R fly fishermen pay the $ to create and maintain the fishery."

This survey is trying to reach some kind of compromise so there will be some big trout for the "trophy trout hunters" and the opportunity for someone interested in catching and eating a trout.

So i guess one should ask .Why do i go to beaver?.Is it to catch larger sized fish?.If it is the latter then why, would you want a kill of the smaller fish, when you can go to Phylis, struble, tay etc.The popularity of the beaver is the reason why the survey is been done.I don't no why anyone would want to eat a fish outa beavr, what with the natural gas bubbles coming up all around the lk.i am a c&r person,i would gladly pay more money to fish a c&r restricted lk.The enforcement then would be the issue.so ask yourselve why go to beaver & i'm sure the reason is the possible chance is to catch a bigger than 8" fish is possible. So why would you not wish to see more lakes like beaver developed?.please do the survey, hopefully the survey will help settle the issues at beaver.
