small stream trout options in mid-August?

Hey guys-not looking for anybody's honey-holes, but if the stars align...I'll be bringing the family out to your fair province late summer. Not a fishing trip/gopher trip...but since I'm making all the arrangements...I may take an afternoon here/there to do a little of both.

Been over a decade since I brought a flyrod to AB, but that's the plan in 2023. Welcome any/all tips or fly recommendations?

I even remember the names of the small streams I've fished, but I wasn't the driver and have no recollection re: access. Might have to start from scratch, but at least your province has cold streams everywhere and lots of trout. We have some great trout fishing here in ON too, but the number of productive trout streams (wild trout) is very limited. Definitely in the southern part of this massive province.

lots of nice streams and creeks to fish that time of year.

what part of province you going to be visiting? makes it easier to steer you in right direction.
