Hey Guys,

Was out today but not till about 2. I used a spoon today with a pink powerbait mealworm. I kept 6 over 10". A few more that I missed. A bit slower than last time I was out but not bad. I did go right off the boat launch and fished in about 4 to 5 feet. Seen one jack I would guess to be about 7 or 8 pounds. Nice to see them that size. the others I've seen would be maybe 2 pounds.

Stopped by on my way home from work to check things out, there is a good foot of LOOSE powder on the ice and packed crap underneath that so you'd definitely want to bring a shovel if your going to risk it i'd probably get out and walk.

I was out at Cow on Sunday, fishing south of the campground. You definitely needed a 4X4.

Was out today, limited out on perch, killed one at 10 inches the rest were all at least 11. The boy had 2 tipups set and got 3 flags but only landed 2. That's pretty good though. We quickly measured and released them, one was 87 cm so they're almost there!!! Also caught a trout about 5 lbs but it was an ugly gross brood stock so it went back. ( Should have kept it for bear bait, lol)

Default Tip ups?

Hi all.

I'm going to use a tip up for the first time this weekend. I'd like some information about what possibly to use. I'd just like to catch a pike or a trout. It doesn't matter what, just wanna catch something.

We'll be taking some boy scouts out fishing that day so if you see us, come on over and say hello! All of the boys are 'green' to the sport so it could be interesting what happens!

Wouldn't count on a lot of tipup action at cow, but if you're wanting pike and or trout, I'd set one in about 6 ft of water with a big shiner, about 4 inches long, pike and trout will hit this. If you just want pike, we have been getting them with anchovies on quickstrike rigs 1.5 ft off bottom.
