Fishing Around Ponoka?
I'm heading to Ponoka to see my best friend's family this weekend, but I'm hoping to sneak away and do some fishing while I'm there. Can anyone recommend a good place around there? Hopefully with open water or ice below 8"...because I won't have anyone to operate my auger for me

Pigeon, Gull and Buffalo Lake are within an hour (but they probably have more than 8" of ice).

Mish how come you can't drill the holes?! :P
Yes, Gull is near, as is Buffalo, Sylvan, hell even Pigeon or Buck.

Because I'm weak and can't operate my 8" hand auger very well. Maybe I won't go fishing after all.

Right...you tied the spinners, the rod was taped with hockey tape, we drove my car, and, well, frankly, paying for the hotel was the least you could have done.

Im sure if you want to go fishing someone would cut some holes for you or look for some old ones that were left and use them. We are heading to sherberne sat but sounds like its been dead there.

Going to gull tomorrow to try for some whites and perch. Going to be on the west side of the lake. I can drill you some holes if needed. Pm me if interested and I can let you know where I will be.

Make sure you stay on the west side, the east side is going to be an absolute gong show and a half.

I have never fished the east side, and plan on being as far away from the gong show as I can.

Thanks for the offer, AH. I was in no condition to drive to Gull this morning , but I may come by and at least check it out this afternoon.
