Default smokey lake sturgeon??

I'd lke to try to catch my first sturgeon. I know that living in lac la biche the closest place is the NSR. The closest place I fish the NSR is around smokey lake. Is there decent sturgeon fishin there or should I keep driving south? Where wouldd be a decent place to set up ?
