having been involved with some of the best in hunting/wildlife photography industry, I would add,
dont drape the rifle in the horns like a gun rack. tasteless
one of my better photos has the gun leaned against a tree in the 10 yards away in the background,
elastic band the mouth closed,
avoid all footprints in snowy foreground.
maybe even include the treestand, blind or a rub in the shot, if possible.

great post Potty. Long after the meat is gone and the rack may or may not be around, good photos will bring the moment back. It's surprising how much a person can forget about an event and the photos will re-enforce the memories.
I will take an hour or so to try to get all of the angles and lighting covered - still get less good ones than I hope, lol. When you get up there in age (me) it's great to relive the moment.
