Unless you actually call to verify, you really don't know what they have in stock. By the time the website was changed to read "in stock" they could have easily been sold out. It could then take another day or two to change the status to "out of stock".

Throwing it up on the web defiantly ensures that the items sought by so many will be promptly bought up in such quantity that by the time 95% of us ever make it over to the store all will have been long since sold out!

I have been watching as many shops appear to be now getting powder shipments.

Perhaps the lean period is easing.

Let the hoarding and price gouging commence.

I have also heard that it's going to loosen up and supply will be easier to get.

This whole shortage hasn't affected me at all. Keep a stock at home, and buy that stock when it's easy to get and prices are down.

Talking to one of the larger importers of a few different component suppliers, the manufacturers are nowhere near catching up with the back orders. The manufacturers are setting regular production numbers every month, yet the backorders are actually still growing. According to him, this situation could exist for a considerable time period.

Was at a place yesterday that had retumbo, imr4064, and even a couple pounds of Varget....the shipment had just arrived.

Hopefully it is trickling in now....

Default Powder supply

More places definitely are getting at least some powder! Cabela's has come thru for me big time. Prices are edging toward the 40 dollar mark at some shops, even 50!

Well we should make a list of stores that are gouging prices on powder and boycott the dirty boogers!

The last 8 lb of Varget I got from Cabela's was $240.00 incl tax. A buddy just bought an 8 lber at P-D and he said it cost him over $270.00 incl tax

Unfortunately, with the current supply and demand, that isn't going to work.

maybe if people had to pay 50 bucks a pound they would buy what they need for now and let things catch up im all for it prices would come back to noemal soon and why should the powder makers go all out to produce more the market will fall faster and they wont sell any more powder in the end

Ah yes, the intersection between sarcasm and realism I like that street corner.

Been buyin powder pretty regular all summer... No large quantitys just a pound er two at a time.... Got a fair ammount ahead at the moment... Powder shortage y'all say? I reckon it's more like an expensive game of hide an go seek an not so much a real shortage...

Ya aint gotta be greedy... Just plan 3 months ahead an start looking around.

I guess I have been lucky. My local dealer has had H-1000 & Varget in my last 2 visits. Mind you he only sells 1 lb per visit so I guess it's their way of spreading it around. I should be good for the rest of the year now.
