Walkin fly fishing in nw calgary

Talking a buddy out to the Bow for walkin flyfishing. Need a calm place to go. Buddy is in chemo recovery so I would like a great calm place to start. I was thinking Edworthy? Anyone have any ideas. We have both not been fly fishing for a number of years. Thanks for any suggestions.

Fish Creek Park.... Policeman's Flats, McKinnon Flats... they are all pretty popular places to fish.

Sorry, I didn't see that he was specifically looking in NW Calgary. The places I mentioned are all south.

I often see people just upstream of Edworthy - they park by Shouldice rec and fish the stretch between the bridges.

the section between Shouldice and Edworthy is a little iffy if you have wobbly legs, there isn't much for a shore along there.

I've done very well in the past just below the Edworthy bridge. In the evening they move into the slack water on the East bank. Another easy access spot with ok fishing is to park at Baker park (across from Bowness park.) It has some structure near shore and would be a very easy walk in.
