1.5 tsp salt
2 tsp pepper
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin, ground
2 tsp oregano
2 tsp onion granulate
1 tsp garlic granulate
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp mustard, ground
1 tsp paprika

mix all the spices together and marinate the meat with the spices and oil for a few hours.
We like a lot of spices so I pretty much use it all but see how much you want when you mix it.

It's great on chicken as well. Now I am hungry...

Default Sobeys for Brisket

I was at the Sobeys in Evanston yesterday. They have Briskets that are around twenty pounds +/- for $90. I bought one last fall and cut it into three even sized portions. Smoked 2 and made corned beef with the 3rd one. This was really nice meat and a good price. Basically $4 something a pound.

Don’t know if it’s a great deal but found Canada Prime briskets at Costco. $10.99/kg which works out to about $5/lb. Pretty standard price for brisket but for Prime, that’s a pretty good price. Grabbed 2 17lb’ers at the Saskatoon Costco. Should be about the same at all Costco’s

Leupold BX-1 McKenzie 10x42 binoculars at Bass Pro USA for $99 (US dollars, that is) or $111.47 (US dollars) shipped via USPS to Alberta is not bad of a deal, given the price is $290 at Cabela’s Canada:

Default Timed online auction

Noticed this timed retirement auction happening online. You can bid online. The items in the auction are located in Spruce Grove and Stony Plain. Company was Request Energy. Auction closes on June 19.

Things like big 300KW gensets, small equipment, smaller generators, welders with accessories, horizontal band saws, to metal stock & material racks, to small utility trailers, gold carts and many other shop type items. Lots of the items have no bids yet.

Click on 'view items' on the first Active auction on this webpage. 5 pages of items.

Noticed another online auction from Edmonton. Amazing amounts of vending machines and all sorts of things. There are items with no bids. closes in 2 days. Definitely worth looking at all 5 pages.

I noticed refrigeration units on page 2 that would be perfect for someone building a meat cooler. Pages 4 and 5 have some cheap tools and such too.

A friend was at the Italian Center in Edmonton today and there were fresh morels for sale. $21 a pound. Several other kinds of fresh mushrooms too.
Not really a deal but nice to know if you like morels and other seasonal fresh mushrooms.

I ran a couple of those in my smoker a month ago. They turned out amazing! I think I will do another one this weekend.

Don't know if it is a good deal or not but I noticed an Antique store closing auction July 14 that might be of interest. In Edmonton.

https://www.facebook.com/events/2453232941423081/

Mentioning only because there are some old guns and fishing tackle.
