Default Straight pull bolt action

I was looking at a blaser R8 straight pull rifle. Looks like a neat design. When I take my daughter out shooting her CZ455 she sometimes struggles lifting the bolt handle. I'm not worried about it as she will build better technique in time. But that straight pull design would be pretty slick. Not sure if anyone makes it in a .22.

Have any of guys and gals used a straight pull bolt rifle?

The Browning T bolt is a straight pull design . The old ones were nice rifles.

There is a Blaser R8 22lr conversion kit, so you could order a stock and conversion kit and assemble a rifle, but it would be quite pricey.
Another pricey option is the Anschutz fortner system.

Browning is the cheapest, works great nice rifle.
Anschutz are the best, but also the most expensive.

I bought and sold 4 new Browning T bolts, 2 22Rf and 2 17 HMR, because they did not group well enough. I still have a LH Belgium made Browning, it shoots great, and a LH Anschutz sporter with the Fortner action that is exceptional but the Anschutz are REALLY pricey.

I have used Blaser extensively as they make a LH version of the straight pull rifle. Never used a Blaser 22 but there hunting rifles are great. It takes a little practice to get used to the straight pull, but if that is what you started out hunting with they would be completely natural. They are a bunch faster than a conventional turn bolt for reloads and they don't disturb your sight picture as much and are great for shooting driven game.

I might buy her a 5 lb weight to cary around to build muscle instead of buying her a new expencive rifle.

Another option is buying myself a new rifle, and letting her try it out once in a while

Just be sure not to buy the ones from the "salt stock era"...What were they thinking? (Browning)

You could look at an IZhmash. They used to be really inexpensive then they were discovered.

Default ISSC Standard SPA .22LR

I couple of months ago I purchased an Austrian made straight-pull, on sale, at the Calgary Shawnessy Canadian Tire. I'm very pleased with it.

I have a 1727F in 17hmr and I would highly recommend it. Available in 22lr as well.

There is an ISSC straight pull .22 on Townpost right now. I know nothing about them, just noticed it.

Straight pull bolt action that's slick......it's called a pump

My favourite gopher gun as a kid was an old remington? my uncle had. That old pump was just as accurate for me as any other rifle, and so smooth, and quick. Just a suggestion, and you'd pretty much be limited to used, put they're a neat little 22

I played with a Blaser R8 a bit and it was very neat.
