Interesting how SRD picks and chooses what this large group of hunters ask them to act on (another time maybe).

When this large group of hunters made the appeal at the stakeholders meeting didn't they agree to table this until 2012. Maybe I have my facts wrong here.

I have no idea! I just know the resolution was passed at last year's convention.

Pardon my ignorance, so where's the money going ? Not that it's huge cash but it all counts somewhere, somehow.

Thank you.

You don't remember their reasoning for passing this resolution do you?

I'm not sure on the breakdown but I'd say ISM gets the lion's share.

Because the majority voted "yes" I suppose.

Hmmm.
Is there really a large group of hunters that want to take up x-bow hunting that wouldn't cconsider using other means?
Really?
This is coming more into focus for me.
And I've heard it a few times over the course of 1000 posts, what this really has to mean to this ''large group of hunters''.
It's not about more opportunity, but all about getting bow hunters on draw.
I'm gonna speculate, but probably lots of these fighting for x-bows have no intention of ever picking one up, but can't wait for the draws to kick in because of the '' if I have to wait so should you'' mentality that has reared up here a few times.
LOUD AND CLEAR TO ME...
And this folks is as much ''for the wrong reasons'' as any other arguement I've heard hear from either side.

Just seems like another good argument.

I don't understand the harm in having a xbow and muzzleloader season combined. It would solve every argument pro and against .
I'm back beotches!

Hey, don't get so excited folks, it won't be for long.

a single shot 250 yrd muzzleloader still burns powder and goes bang, and someone here killed 3 wolves one right after the other with one....so it may be a bit slow to reload but if you can kill 3 wolves with one at one go then they can't be that slow lol

i'm a gear junky myself so if they want to separate the seasons beyond fffft vs bang then bring it on, right now one of the fffft's is in the with bang's though....lets fix that first, then the more weapon specific breakdown seasons bring it, gives perfect excuse to buy more toys and try it all out....it all works for me

then one could argue that primitive archery could have extra time and no draws as you've got about a 25 yrd weapon there, and if range and or noise and or if repeater or not are all part of the qualifications to make all these different little sub-seasons then i'm all for it

for simpleness if we can afford to only have the ffft's in a season that suites their limits and another that suites the limits of the bang's then thats okay too, still seems to be enough other special seasons with mixed bag weapons choices to keep things interesting and busy enough to extending overall hunting time and opportunity, i'm kinda digging these late season opportunities with the mixed bag bows and short range boomsticks etc.

Where did this -- everybody is out to get me paranoia come from--? I am quite certain that if the powers that be wanted the bow season on a draw, they don't need to go through a lot of fanfare. They just announce it and we as hunters follow the rules . There is no big conspiracy against bow hunters by their fellow sportsman. If there is ,nobody called me to let me in on the game.
When i said in my first post on this topic that I was in favour of the xbow and gave my reasons, I didn't realize that i was going to be called- lazy ,unskilled ,stupid , uninformed ...over and over. I have my reasons for wanting the crossbow included and it has zip to do with trying to wreck another hunters season. I rarely participate in the draw system as it is , I put in this year but not last and 999 my draws most of the time when I do put in. I hunt White tail for the most part and don't have a lot of time other than weekends .
I hunt for the enjoyment of it , I enjoy eating wild game but my life doesn't depend on it ,I mean gawd it is the most expensive way in the world to try and fill your freezer!! I don't trophy hunt but will take a nice buck if I have the opportunity , mostly I am content with a nice fat doe or two.
I am not out to try and ruin yours or anyone else's hunt! for heaven's sake ,take a chill pill and relax, anyone who knows me ,knows I would help anyone out that needed it (yup I would even help Grinr if he was in a bind). But I still would like the chance to hunt in the bow zone with a xbow if I so choose, without being slandered as a lesser hunter for it.

Easy big guy.....
And I didn't come in here to be called selfish and an elitest either dude.
It's ok for YOU but not me !!!!!
And for the record I haven't bow hunted my self for the last 4 years because of injuries and time restraints.
And you know what. I hunt for the enjoyment and Me and my family like the meat as well.
And .... huh.....if I need to take a chill pill you need a handful!!

If that is the case, there is 35 pages of wasted bandwidth on this thread. The OP said there was a poll on including the crossbow in archery season. Why all the whining? Just vote.
Now , how do i go about getting my 22-250 included in the rifle season?
As, i am guessing , it would be the same way as getting the xbow into archery season.
