What do you do for work? Or what do you have as a side skill set? Check out etsy. You can find it on google, it is a selling place for all things home/hand made. The majority of the things on there that I have looked at are different furnitures that only have $75-150 in material and likely less than 10 hours build time being sold for $1000

Semi truck is for sale if anybody is looking.
No work out there for owner operators? That's what I'd be looking at if I had my own truck. Also I'd look into doing a few hotshot runs up to Fort Mac.

x2 on poker. i lived off my poker winnings at 1-2 no limit for years.
you can also make a good score in a poker tournament.

course it helps if you know how to play poker and even then you can still lose your original bankroll.

Also forgot to add, if its an emergency and you won't be able to find a place to live or food to eat you can talk to alberta works. They offer 1 time emergency assistance if you need it. You'll have to prove it's an emergency though and that you have exhausted all your other options.

Neighbor paid his mortgage in 2008 when the oil companies and Stelmach had their standoff and the oil patch was dead...He did not have much more then that. Figured he would try and was good at it.
