From what I've heard....great deer bullet.....most people that have used it wouldnt use it on elk or moose....a bit frangible for that. I'm sure it would handle the task quite well if put to the test, but I think a better deer bullet than anything from what I've read on the boards....

Last year i started feeding my 7 fusions and it likes them to an acceptable degree. I took a 145 inch athabasca w/t and a 72 inch antelope as well with the 150 gr. Worked very well indeed.

keep a strain on er.

My dad used them in Africa for all his game. If you remember the pictures he shot an Eland at 40 yards with it. I got the bullet out of it and it was a perfect mushroom. Looked as good as any Accubond and I imagine it weighed more than 75% but it looked like it would have been a lot more. That was the ultimate test I would think since there isn't an animal here in north america that could rival the size of an Eland. I'd use them hunting Kodiaks after that one.

I tried them out, but my 270 WSM didn't seem to like them much. It does however, love Winchester Supreme Elites.

Default Remington Accutip Ammo

Has anyone here used remington accutip ammo? I picked some up but have yet to use them. The ballistic tables I have seen seem pretty impressive. It is in 270WSM 150g. I Just bought a new gun and am trying to figure out which ammo works best.

The Accutips are very frangible bullets.....meant for good accuracy but definatly not weight retention or for penetration......I think there are much better options out there for big game hunting IMO....

Ahhhh crap. Thats not what I hoped for. I have a moose tag this year and wanted something that I would be comfortable shooting bullwinkle with. now I am not too sure. they would probably do the job with a boiler room hit, but wouldn't be Ideal thats for sure. any recommendations for moose worthy ammo in the 270WSM?

I wouldnt shoot moose with a 270WSM and an Accutip.....if you hit one of those big bones you could be askin for troubles....they are very frangible bullets....definatly not meant for busting bones, penetration, or weight retention...

The Nosler Partition, Barnes TSX, Accubond, Hornady Interbond, Swift A-frames, TBBC's, etc, etc are better choices IMO for moose.....my personal choice is the first 3....

Thanks rack!!
My plan is to reload my own once I accumulate enough brass. I have looked at the accubonds and was leaning towards them. I was planning to use factory ammo for this year, so a little more research is in order to find the right bullet for the time being.

I switched to Fussion 130gr. for the 270win my kids shot last year and they handled putting the hurt on big bodied mulies. Both one shot kills so 2 for 2 both passing right through the boiler rooms main pump.

Did my initial test yesterday, with more to follow but initially my 30-06 didn't care for the 180 Fusion, but shot the 165 pretty well. More to follow next weekend.

My wife's single shot youth model nef in .243 loves them my best 3 shot was considerably tighter than the one pictured below from my tikka...it was essentially a one hole cloverleaf and probably my tightest centerfire group shot at 100 yrds besides my .204 maybe...maybe. My tikka lam/ss in .270 likes the 130 gr fusions. Great accuracy for the money. No experience on critters though...well...first blood on my .270 happened to be a fox at 100 yrds so not much of a test....but the fox didn't go anywhere...if that helps.

The opposite side shoulder is got a fairly large hole in it...should held back a bit and hoped for an easy pass through. Still skinned her and getting her tanned so we'll see how much sewing i gotta do to hide it....case skinned and plan to hang her that way fyi.
