Default Waterfowlers - what's your call of choice?

Ok guys...I'm looking to get a better call for this season and just want to know what you guys blow to get them in the dekes!?

Single reed, double reed, acrylic, expensive or cheep, brand you know...dish the goods!

For geese, I use a couple shortreed acrylics, one is HS Slammer and the other is a giant killer little giant. The gk call is one of the loudest I've ever heard. The wife has a big river long honker and a sean mann eastern shoreman express (both flute style)

All my calls are made by Rod Haydel. They are fine tuned by himself and when he comes hunting with me every year he leaves them with me for free. Can't really beat that I guess so there is no need for me to try anything else. For the price if you were to buy one he has the best price. I use short reeds and have found that they are not that hard to blow after using it for a while. You can make way more sounds than you can with anything else. The learning curve goes from a strait blow joe call from Canadian tire that you just have to blow in to make a honk and then guys upgrade to a flute that you can make a few more different sounds and is easy to blow and then once you get that and want a chalenge then you can move into the short reeds and learn the whole dialogue.

One more thing about RNT ducks call...

They suck so don't buy one...

When I blow mine, all I ever kill is these scabby greenheads... Gettin sick of 'em...

I lent one to some buddies of mine last Fall... Same thing happened... All they called in was this sketchy mess of mallards... What a shame!

Go getcha a good duck call from Walmart.

For Canada geese I blow a Zink Power Maximus and am looking to get a Basin Calls canada goose call, both easy to blow and learn on. For ducks I blow a single reed Zink Power Hen, it is very easy to blow and learn on.

Default Calls

I started using wooden Olt's calls back in the 70's and have been using them ever since. There is a truck load of great new calls out there, but this old guy still likes his Olt's.
