It's the Ram snares with no BAD that can be problematic, and we don't want any problems. We don't want to give ole Dwighty and his "strange" buddies a leghold, ooooops I mean foothold, of any sort!

Would you/anyone suggest running the snare loop through the BAD itself ?
I don't use steel locks on these snares.
I've used BADS on conventional snares in the past and appreciated how they not only reduce accidental catches but provide less friction on the open snare loop and might even speed up the closure on a caught animal.
