Question Trolling Rod and Reel

New to the trolling game looking for recommendations on a quality rod and reel for trolling. I want something that can be used for Walleye, Pike. Muskie larger fish. If you recommend different rods for species that is fine also. Thanks

I have a few Shimano rods. great quality was also looking at the Okuma brand?

I'm pretty sure you will be more happy with 2 different set ups. A medium/lite action as a walleye/pike rod and a heavy/medium action as a pike/muskie rod.

Questions you need to ask yourself:

Do you like a spinning reel or bait caster (level wind)?
Will you also use these combo's for casting? If so are you comfortable casting a bait casting reel?

If you end up with one of each type of reel make sure it matches the rod. The reels are not interchangable between the rods as the spine of each rod is on the opposite side.

The brands and types and sizes are so unlimited. Everybody will have a different opinion and brand preference so stick with the brands you already like, talk to the pros at the store and buy what you think is best value. It's hard to go wrong with so many competitors out there today if you spend a bit and buy quality, which seems to be your intent.

Well Thanks for the info. I agree with a rod for each species. And as for budget i dont mind paying for quality. I have a Shimano SAROS-3000 on a COMPRE Rod and a SONORA 2500FA on a SCIMITAR Rod and AMUNSON COAST RIDER Fly Rod. They are all decent Rods. So You suggestion would be great. I do not like Bait cast. So if you could advist for Walleye and Pike/Muskie that would be great.
