We used to have a cabin at Turtle Lake about 10 years ago. The fishing was never good. The folks still go out there once or twice a summer to see friends. They do a bit of fishing but haven't heard of any great days. Not to mention that the May Long weekend used to be nuts up there. When we were younger we were usually in the middle of it. Wouldn't want to take the family up there then.
If you are looking for a decent lake in the area check out Loon Lake. It is about 100km Northwest of Turtle Lake. The folks fish there every year and enjoy it. We are planning a trip up there this summer for a weekend.

I don't know where you are coming from but both Loon Lake and Turtle Lake are about 140kms from Lloydminster. They have the provincial campground and you can rent apartments at Pine Cove.
