I did. I got the same non-specific denial from the same guy.

I don't much believe in coincidences. He talks about guns and then gets fired right away. Coincidence? Maybe.......

I also had a bit of an email discussion with Mr Schaab. (Formerly known as Troy Stevens, for those familiar with Red Deer radio). I got the same denial, with no specifics as well. He says it is to protect confidentiality, but one would assume that was blown out of the water when Diesel made his statement, no?

Just thought I'd update this one...

I had a discussion, via Facebook, with Mike Diesel last night, and he has won a wrongful dismissal suit against LA Radio Group.

That should clear up who had the correct statement.

I wonder if the devil is in the details here.

Was it his FB account or his FB account for work?

Could be that they have a set standard of what can be said and how an account can be used IF it has their name attached to it.

I know I know... its petty and shallow but... it is also a legal right now that the rights of companies carry more weight than those guaranteed us in the charter.
No different in practice or principle than urine testing really.

I hope they get an earful and that he finds a more reasonable employer...who pays better to.
Maybe some local bussinesses will pull their ads....

He was a jack arse anyways, in my opinion atleast.
It's a shame guns even got brought into it.
There has been plent of talk from other hosts on the same station about responsible firearms ownership and enjoyment without any reprocussions at all.

Its just too much of a coincidence that Mike Diesel was fired after talking openly about firearms.
Why on earth would he explain the reasons the guy was canned to some guy that emailed him?

We have laws against doing that.

Why?

Because it not anyone elses damn bussiness but the employer and the guy canned.

Does he have proof of that? Just because he says it doesn't mean it really happened.
