Default Air Compressors

Am in the market for an air compressor, just for the garage. I would like however something with about a 20/30 gal. tank. Are the oilless compressors OK or should one get the other. There is a price difference of course, this I know. I know about scfm and the usage, just questioning the durability of the oilless models.. Of course CT has some on sale now but what about other sources with comparable pricing..

I bought an oil less one and wish I had not. It is so loud that as soon as the dog sees me plug it in he is gone. Must be very hard on his ears so probably hurts our hearing long term. I have noticed on construction sites that people like framers who need a good dependable source of air use the oil ones.

Costco! 220 bucks gets you a SNAP-ON 20 gallon compressor. Great deal

Default Waldo's

If you're serious about getting a compressor that meets your needs and getting quality advice and great selection,
talk to the boys at Waldo's Distributing in Calgary.

Do not go oil less! So noisy you will hate to use it.
if you plan on using any air tools with it go as big as you can afford.
20-30 gallons isn't as much as it sounds.
Princess auto sells a Sanbourn 60 gallon compressor for about $600.
I can run impact wrenches and paint all day with no problems.

Also, do not buy a "Snap On" anything from costco. Snap On does not make air compressors or welders or pretty much anything that plugs in. They source that stuff out and the stuff sold at costco under the SO name is the worst of the worst.
