Forgetting you even had the gun is a thin excuse and.... I doubt that any American gun owner..especially one that is active with a shooting organization would not know that Canada has gun laws.

They refer to them in their articles on a regular basis.

I suspect that the guy is just another example of someone trying to exercise American exceptionalism. It didn't work out for him and now... he is fishing for excuses and sympathy.

No harm was done...give the guy his gun back...take him to the border...put him on a list and leave it at that but... I doubt that a Canadian caught would recieve the same consideration.

Cool

But officer, honest mistake i always carry ...an1/8 in the console. lol. ya that would fly . Gun in the console bit of a reach to forget. A loaded pistol approaching a border crossing laughable at best. sgt maj does not forget a loaded firearm ..ever. utter and complete BS good thing he was not coming the other way with a joint ,three yrs would be how long he would wait for a trial. Should be charged for forgetting a loaded firearm is present in a vehicle in which he is in control of . I still dont believe sgt maj's forget ..anything ...ever.
