Default Lesser slave tips

Going to lesser slave lake from high level to do some fishing and just wondering if anyone has some helpful hints. Figured on trolling with bottom bouncers or rapala husky jerks like we do up here. Any tips are appreciated

We either find the group of boats and fish along with them or trool cranks till you locate them and a green or orange jig and tail along with a minnow.

We always go in June and find them shallow but I would guess they are deeper and a lot more spread out this time of year

If you are going to Shaw's Point either look for the boats or if you have a depth finder look for the ledge (20 or 30 feet). Jigs with minnows will work well. If you are going to Faust then troll until you find them and then use your jigs. If you are going to Canyon Creek you will need a depth finder as they will be out past the 20 foot ledge which is quite a ways out. If you are fishing at Slave Lake look for holds around Dog Island or the deeper water out from the beach area north of the Lesser Slave River. Fastest way of finding them there is by trolling and then use jigs and minnows. You can also anchor your boat just out from the public launch by Norm's Walleye Camp and jig the river where it bends and flows towards the weir. With all this hot weather they will be deep. Jigging the river works well if the wind is up and the lake is rough. Good luck.
