Gun show tips and myths
Anyone have any tips they would feel like sharing Or myths that should be dispelled?
I have heard quit a few "tips" with the upcoming show, mostly all contradicting the previous one.
-the only good deals are on the first day
The only good deals is the end of the last day because no one wants to pack it all up
-everything os meant to be haggled, and it's foolish to pay sticker
-never try and haggle on anything under $200
-wearing a flag on your person gets you a deal
-only other dealers get deals
-gun shows are only to sell the crap that your normal customers are to smart to buy
And my favorite this week- If you go to a gun show you support organized crime, and there is a loop hole that anyone can buy any gun at a show without a license, and it proves that murder rates rise the month after any big gun show goes to a city.

Ever see a homicidal lunatic attempt a mass murder at a gun show?

I agree about the gems are bought before the gunshow opens to the public, or in the first hour of opening.

For Calgary it's March 29th at the BMO I believe. Same day as the big Glock event at Calgary Shooting Centre.
No wonder Jesus died at Easter
Just kidding

Hmm advise on gunshows.
#1 Do your home work to know new price and high/low used prices for whatever you are looking for.
#2 Don't be afraid to haggle.

I seldom go to a gun show with the intention of buying a gun. I usually go there looking for other stuff, certain bullets, cleaning supplies, sights, buttplates, brass, dies, interesting doodads. Have walked out of many shows without buying anything. But, I always see lots of stuff that I get ideas from, get to look at things that are not around the local area. It's more of an info gathering
trip. This year in Calgary, look for ideas on ghost rings, peeps, front sights, some oddball bullets for 30 cal, .410, maybe some handheld loading tools.
Just go and see what there is to see, I don't need anything much.
And there is a possibility I will be carrying a rifle out of there, but, it was ordered a year ago.

I go to gunshows for parts and supplies I never go early, way too many people for me. I could count on one hand the number of guns I have bought at gunshows. One thing I have never understood is why people bring babies in strollers to gun shows, there's barely enough room to walk and push and I'm sure the view from the stroller isn't very good.

1) Not everyone has a sitter in waiting.
2) Might as well get the little ones hooked at a young age.

My lad was just 2 or 3 weeks old attending his first gun show; it was actually kind of our first family outing not related to introducing him to the friends and family
