Tabernac I broke my rcbs press
Well the story is I've got some new ww 7mm rem brass that I won't chamber. Case length is good so I figured I'd screw my sizing die down a 1/8 of turn to get it sized to fit. I leaned on'era little much. Lol. Linkage broke.
Anybody have a situation like this?
Rock chucked supreme press by the way.

Repair
Just phone RCBS they will warranty it for you. Tell them what is broken on it and they will send you new parts. I broke pieces twice now on my rock chucker press, just phoned them up told them what was broke. They shipped me new parts at no cost and I was back in business again. They are very easy to deal with and helpful. That's one of the reasons I run RCBS.

RCBS is awesome. By the time you finish the call or e-mail the part will be on it's way to you.

Thanks for posting the photo.
RCBS will quickly make this good (we should all thank Fred Huntington for setting such a high standard for customer service in the industry).
IMHO cast iron is a great material for rigidity and easy machining, but it does not do well in tension and is particularly fragile at reduced sections. IMHO, real steel would have been a been a better material choice for this part, and it would not be difficult to fabricate new and better links from steel.
Good Luck, YMMV

That'll be my job for tomorrow.
Any idea how to take it apart? Just hammer out the pins?

Anybody else ever broke their press? Curious to know if it's a manufacturing defect because you don't ever hear of it.

Well I talked to rcbs today. Talk funny but great people. Parts are on the way no question asked so I didn't have to explain I was trying to use it for pressing out rail pins on a D8. Lol.
Had a good bs with 6tmile. Great guy he is just like everyone I've met from the forum.
Thanks all.

This cast iron or cast steel ? Everything has design limits the engineers build to.

The grain structure looks like iron to me but I would need to test to be sure, maybe NorwestAb could try to cut it with a torch and report back to us. IMHO, cast steel is a better material than cast iron but modern manufacturing could just as likely give us MIM (metal injection molding) or powdered metal. It will all be covered by powder coat and we will never know unless it breaks.

Is this a newer press? I was in cabelas a while back and noticed unfortunately like most others I think they have farmed out the manufacturing overseas!
