Default Wild Boar Hunting In Saskatchewan

From what I've heard there is a problem with these critters. Are they protected like Dear, Moose etc? They seem to carry all sorts of stuff which can be transferred to humans. If you shoot one, where can they be checked for safety reasons before eating?

I know in alberta they are open season, not sure about Saskatchewan, be careful when skinning, they have diseases that can be transfered to humans, when skinning I always where plastic gloves and protectave glasses.

Wow! That doesn't sound promising.... Sounds like making sushi from a puffer fish? Do it wrong you die.

Just have to be careful, as long as you be careful and cook it well you shouldn't have any issue. They are lots of fun to hunt.

Several places free range and a couple places for fenced hunts.

There is a wild boar website for marking sighting or harvest of wild boar...on a map of Alberta or Sask....you can see where the hot spots are

I have submitted several of the sightings marked...I truely believe that this is only the very tip of that proverbial iceburg...and 95% of people wont summit their sightings or harvest...

Probably Mostly because they want to keep it to themselves or just dont want a crowd of tresspassers...which is fair if you think about it!!
