I've never caught Squawfish on a fly. they have a mouth like a sucker.
But I have caught lots of Rocky mountain whitefish on a fly. they look similar and are about the same size.

Default BC Bass

That is a nice bass and there are probably more of those if you fished the docks and the weedy areas. There are a number of lakes in BC with bass in them and the fishing out there is amazing for them. I have only fished on the lower mainland and the island, but I have seen bass over 8 pounds for largemouth and over 6 for smallies. Duck lake is supposed to be one of the best trophy lakes in BC. The best time to see what a lake has in it is early in the year. Usually, you will not have to compete with a million boats either because the water is to cold for swimmers.

If you go to www.wcba.ca you can see the list of BC bass lakes and they are also putting on a tournament on osoyoos lake in Oct. Osoyoos is an amazing fishery for both smallies and largemouth.

If anyone would like to get out bass fishing sometime pm me. Also, for you sask guys there is huge largemouth in the boundary waters in sask.
