Default Black bear missing leg

Got a tripod on cam. Missing left front leg. I see about 6" of stub. Bear is about 150#. Real hard for it to get around. No sign of damage on stub I just see fur.

Shoulder meat on that stub ok?
Any reason I shouldn't eat that bear?

Hit by car. Born that way. Wire fence or snare. Fight another bear. Shot. Sharp steel barrel.
Any other ways I'm not thinking of?

Looks like a 4 legged bear to me?

I think I can see the difference in color between his front left leg and his body. The right rear leg is likely directly behind his front left leg so you can't see it.

That's what I see too.

But OP saw it live but a few better pics would be nice.

No one will ever know how it lost its leg, as for meat being ok, ya got to put it on the ground then when your prepping it you will find out.

I shot a 3 legged deer a number of years ago that had lost its hind leg from the "knee" down. Fur had grown around the end, but the bone was somewhat still visible. There was half the amount of meat on the stub side vs the usable leg but the meat was tender and delicious. If the injury is not recent and there is no sign of infection or trauma to the meat then, with close inspection, I would not have a problem eating the bear.

It did a lot of standing up on two feet but not much walking on its hind legs. It really liked to lay down.

I seen a grizzly with a snare on its leg which was about to fall off but it got weak and a hunter shot it because it couldn't move much. Cattle get snared to.

You guys are real jerks because I am not an idiot and full of crap and it did happen so you can prove it if you arent cowards by calling the fish and wildlife in Red Deer. Before this happened a huge grizzly and black bear were caught and killed in wolf snares here. They will prove this to.

Punctuation and grammar are both lost arts apparently.

He's an anti against the use of snares. Martindog and ravenlunatic are just a couple of his returnee handles.

Where was the bear seen? I know someone who wounded a bear in the spring and it was that leg that was hit.

Interesting. I have never seen anything like that. There is no way he would be born that way, IMO. The little dude would probably be dead within days or weeks? That's my guess anyway.

That deer stump is pretty interesting too. Something that would definitely give me a "wtf" moment before putting the deer down.
