What the heck was in that pike's belly? Water boatmen? Maybe it's just the pic, but they look huge.

Looks like dragon fly nymphs, but that is just a guess.

Giant water beetles it looks like. I had a couple swim up the hole the other day.

They are dragon fly nymphs. 2 out of the 3 I cleaned that day were stuffed full of them. Early spring and I think they pick them off as the nymphs climb the reeds from the bottom of the lake.

You got some nice walleye, that is one species I did pretty poorly on this year(for size anwyays).

Definitely looks like dragonfly nymphs in that pikes stomach.


I had a pretty good year with I believe 10 new personal bests and a few gooders.
