Default "A Rifle With A Soul"

In the new issue of Petersens Hunting, Mike Schoby has a piece on Wally Johnsons Model 70 375. A great read if you are interested in such things.

I wonder if in 70 years we will see a similar article about a Savage? :-)

Not likely. Are Savages the modern day Cooey? Accurate beyond their pricepoint, but ugly to look at. Good utilitarian guns.

There are lots of model 99 that have stood the test of time. They are also one of the best looking rifles ever made so I don't get your point chuck.

I don't know if they go quite that far, but I do think the 99 if full of soul. I'm poking fun at the crap produced today.

Here is my first rifle. You can see it's seen a few miles.

Not all opinions are created equal either.

The soul will only grow if you are open.

My dad had a Husqvarna '06 he bought right after military service brand new in '46. Said it cost $110 then. Buckhorn open sights, great Mauser action, killed dozens of elk, quite a few moose, untold #'s of deer. My younger brother still fills a tag with it annually. If it could talk.......
