Either he caught it there or took it there for the picture. You can look at the street view on google maps and it is clearly the same lake.

Good luck catching any other ones like that out of there though I am thinking lol.

There are some big fish that come out of tiny lakes. I know nothing of the lake in question but know that in Lethbridge there are usually a couple 20lb or very close to that , fish that come out of the lakes in the city every year.

The bystanders sure don't seem one bit interested in the behemoth fish just pulled out...

I have never been to that lake, nor know anything about it. There are also trout in there? Is it a stocked Trout pond? If it was taken at Herm pond I would call BS.
In any case, that is one heck of big Pike.

6# is entirely possible. Half decent rod with good landing skills would have no problem bringing that in. I'm not seeing any sign of submerged trees or other problems that the fish could have gotten hung up on.

The guy probably just knew what he was doing. Good for him.

X2, happens all the time. Many many huge pike have been boated with 8 and 10 lb line while jigging walleye. 6lb test and a smooth drag can be done.

I had 2 over 22lbs a week apart on the westside. It was a struggle to get em through an 8" hole. The one was like 37" long!! Fat sucker

There appears to be some line wrapped around that fish .. look under his armpit and follow the line to the tail- or maybe I'm just seeing things.

I caught an 18-20lbr on #6 pre fishing for a SAWT at travers reservoir. It was a 20 minute fight. Should have taken some measurements and pics but had to get back to the task of finding the eyes.

Pretty sure photoshop. There was a guy a couple years go caught that fish (I believe) he was sitting in a boat with it on his lap. I believe he caught it when it inhaled a 5 pound pike he had on or something along those lines.

The shadow of the fish doesn't look consistent with the girth. Nice fish whoever caught it.

Look at the shadow on the ground cast by the fish. I say real. Unless he photoshopped a shadow in as well.

Beauty fish. If it was in march, early april and full of eggs, it would weigh 26-30 lbs. I believe it's real.

The guy R that he was with texted me that picture right after he took it. I talked to T shortly after receiving the picture. The only BS part about it was the 6# line. T told me 8#.
