Smile Burntstick Lake

Anybody fishing this lake after the ice comes out ?? All the posts on it seem to be ice fishing related.

I've been up there a couple of times in the last month and had moderate success with 62cm long Pike Not that I'm looking to keep anything for the pan, but I havn't had a sniff from anything bigger.

Has anybody caught something of any size up there ? Ice on or off.....

Seems large hairy spinners are the key to a hammer handles heart.....I'm looking for a shot at something bigger....Should I just upsize the lures or move a little deeper from where I'm hittin the littler guys ?

Maybe because the lake is actually called burnstick. Try searching for that...or I'll dig up an old post http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=35365

There are lots of big fish in there. Use raps and cranks or bigger spoons if you want bigger ones. What's the water temp now? If it's warmed up the fish will be deeper.
