Coyote classification?
Looked around and can't find the answer so thought I'd ask here.
Are coyotes classified as big game?
Is there a requirement to save the fur?

So there's no valid reason why I can't have a dog with me?

That's a different question.
You are not allowed to use a dog to hunt coyotes. That includes a decoy dog or a coursing dog or any other kind of dog.

Where did you find that? I've searched the hunting regulations and I can only find where it says I can't use a dog to hunt big game.

Maybe can't "hunt". But I can't see a reason to not be accompanied by one.
I can find anything to stop that.

The regs you are checking is a synopsis and not all the hunting regs.
Check with F/W. or check the wildlife act.

I can't see a good reason not to have a dog with you anytime you hunt anything, but unfortunately that's the law.

Hunting with dogs
115(1) A person shall not hunt bobcat, coyote or fox with the
assistance of dogs.
(2) Subsection (1) does not apply where the use of dogs to hunt
coyote or red fox is specifically authorized by or under the
Agricultural Pests Act.

Haha sorry man I was just joking around suprised someone took me serious honestly though pick up a copy of the up to date alberta hunting regs at canadian tire, wholesale sports, or cabellas and make time to read it every night it's all in there, how else are people quoting it on here then
I used be too lazy to read them and ask people always until a friend of mine bitched me out and told me to read the damn regs
