Wabamun 15-16 inches of ice, one hole was only 11-12 inches. Saw a few trucks out. Use caution.

Sorry you didn't get anything -- I was looking forward to hearing how you'd made out (planning on heading to CVR this weekend, when it's also supposed to be fairly brisk). Hope I don't get skunked like I did last wknd @ Spray!

Default Skeleton lake

Went to skeleton yesterday, ice was 16" to 18" at the North end. Solid black ice with about 4" of snow covering it. Fishing was slow for perch, 7 keepers between the two of us in 7 hours.

Default Wabamun - Fallis

I'm also wondering about Wabamun, has anyone been over to the Fallis side? Any ideas as to how much ice and snow on the lake over there?

First time ice fishing today. Hit Tilley B, confirmed 18" ice and very slow. We were skunked

Had a few pike hovering around but we were using little wire worms on 4lb line. Was hoping for perch/whitefish lol.

Hand augered 6 holes, going for a nap now lmao.

Thanks for the ice report! Try Fallis by the point, there is a lot of structure under there and I caught some nice fish in that area last winter!

Hit the West side of CVR today. First spot (ice measured at 10"), got nothing between 9:30 and 1:00. Thought the second spot (ice measured at 14") was going to be the same, but then had 4 hits between 3:10 and 3:30. Landed 2 pike (20", 23") and lost the largest pike I've ever hooked (not saying much, as I don't fish pike much and my PB is 8 lbs). Body depth was well over 6" (I have an 8" auger and there was only a little dark above/below the body when it came against the ice). After bringing it to the hole for the third time, it got off he hook. I was a bit frustrated, but it was good to get a couple of fish up through the ice for the first time this season.

Blood Indian is safely drivable. Fishing was a little slow today, got my PB stocked Rainbow, though! About 4lbs, released her to see another day.

How is the ice at Lac St. Anne? Particularly Yellowstone and Ross Haven? Need to fill some tags.

Is it safe for a 3/4 - 1 ton truck?

Theres been 20+ trucks on that area every weekend for the last 3 weeks.

Many of them 1 tons.

16 - 18 inches most places. Do not venture far from shore there is a large pressure ridge about a 1/4 mile out running east/west.

How far should one stay away from a pressure ridge like that? I have never gone fishing with one nearby or one around to be concerned about. So I really am curious.

We cut across the bay at Ross Haven from Yellowstone and fish the drop off just west of the point at Ross Haven. I am the one more concerned about stuff like pressure ridges and ice thickness, even if there is no imminent danger. Maybe I will say we need to stick around Yellowstone instead rather than travelling across that bay and thus a bit closer to the ridge.

Its been there a while and is most likely froze back up in most spots. Id keep at least 50 yards away from it with a truck and definitely do not cross it.

Even though someone will take a truck over it if they havent already.
