Default Hunting in Drumheller region

Hey guys/gals.....

Am looking to hunt down around the Drum area, as both my kids live down there. They are supposed to get me a county/M.D. map, but you know how kids are.
Am not sure when I will be down there to travel the back roads and knock on doors. Any help with contacts, where to look, WHERE TO ORDER A MAP, would be of great help to me.
Am not worried about trophy animals so much as just some new country to see. Doubt my butt will be up to using our horses this year, but if that is the only(or foot power)option, it could be done......maybe....I hope.....I pray.....

Thanks for your help,
Archdlx

Start putting in for Mulie buck, there is some beauts in that river valley down there. The big ranches will help your permission cover more ground, just hope thye are the type of ranchers wh will give permission.

Area around Drum is split into 3 different counties or areas so getting one map is gonna be a problem,at least one map that shows all landowners and stuff.

Hunted North of Drumheller for mule deer two years ago, and was not amused by the hunting pressure. Only hunted the Thursday and Friday of the opening week. Thursday was terrible. Hunters driving around everywhere, deer being chased by vehicles (both on road and off road). A few brave fellars actually got out of their car and stalked or did a bit of a drive. Dressed in orange top to bottom. I heard from F&W that Saturday was worse for volume and for law breaking. The Friday was actually a bit more quiet, which makes me think that possibly a few weeks later, on weekdays it might not be too bad. But as I recall the season is only four weeks.

We did see a few very nice mule deer, though.

I hunt north of Drumheller and South of Drumheller and there is alot of hunting pressure. You usually have to wear blaze orange if you want to walk around.

Thanks Frans, 243....

I think I will take my chances down there....NOT!!!
Sounds like an accident just waiting for me to show up.
Will keep looking for some other spots. This CWD cull is killin' me.

Thanks again folks, for you input,
Archdlx
