Default Winchell Lake REPORT

Too bad there isn't a sticky for fishing reports on bodies of water. So until then, let me be the first to try.
Guys please keep it civil and report the fishing, water conditions, problems etc....
Thanks and good luck.

Fished Winchell last Saturday morning, was able to catch some small rainbows from the boat. The gentleman on shore fly fishing said that he had caught 2. They are quite small, but it was still a great morning.

I was there 3 weekends ago and caught one 9" with a bobber while sleeping in my dingy (nice sunny calm day for that lake). About 5 fly fishing boats hit the lake in that time-frame. The newly redone road in brings lots of pressure on such a small lake imo.

They started to jump around 7:15 pm but not many maybe 5 fish.

We went yesterday.
4 rigs on the water and 8 guys from shore. The weeds and Lilly type vegetation is getting higher.....Seemed like everyone was catching fish.

Very windy.

We caught 4, 8"-12" on silver Panther Martin and gold Panther Martin.

As for the road going in, it is in great condition compared to the mess it was in years past.....You can actually drive a car in with no problems.
