Default Ice Fishing Lakes Near Calagary

Hello everyone,

I will be going out ice fishing for my first time on Sunday. I am hoping that someone can point me to a good lake to fish at. K-country or an hour or so from Calgary. I just don't want to waste the day looking as I don't know where to go. I would like to catch a fish. Any help is appreciated. Thanks all.

the closest places west from Calgary in K country are Sibbald Meadows Pond which has a mixed reputation for ice fishing and Barrier lake. Maybe someone with experience can comment on Barrier lake. A little farther south is the K lakes that seem to hold some fish.
