Default Guess how it works game

Ok heres the game, post 1 pic and first person to guess correctly what it is or how it's used gets to post the next one. Keep it to guns/ scopes/ reloading. Hopefully we can all learn something new.

I'll start first.

First one to explain how this works gets to post next pic

That’s an accutrac with a built in stadia wire ranging reticle.(Redfield)

Bracket a deer with the top two stadia wires, by adjusting the scopes magnification. Read the range on the indicator once bracketed.

Wires were calibrated to 18” at the indicated range(bit of a guess here)

Wasn’t only used by the military, I had one of those in a 3-9 on my first 30-06. Commercial Redfield Traditional 3-9x40 with the Accutrac, and rangefinder.

The optics were pretty poor(by today’s standard) they also didn’t track very true.
Go up for 500yds then back to 200 and you’d often never come back down quite right, but you’d get a windage shift as well.

I just zeroed for MPBR, and Kentucky elevated for the ranged distance.
