gleniffer lake fishing

I have never fished Gleniffer but have heard lots about it, sounds like a hit and miss lake. If you want to go fishing in that area i would either fish the dam or go over to dickson trout pond just around the corner from there. Tons of bows in there and i have heard of lots of guys catching some pretty decent fish.

we have a lot at carefree on glennifer and yea its a very tough lake to fish, me and my dad have tried tons of times and between both of us, we've caught 5 fish in total and they were all pike, as stated in the first reply, try the dam or the trout pond if you want to go in that area

are boats allowed on Dickson trout pond ??? any one fish there lately

Yeah you can take boats but only with electric motors... you don't really need a boat though. You can fish quite well from shore. I haven't fished it since last winter but i did fish it a number of times about this time last year and it was pretty good.

thanks for the help guys what lures should i use i was thinking just the normal river rainbow trout stuff like small mepps spinners or panther martin

yo'll have lots of fun at the pond . they stock about 5000 in there annualy-- great for the kids , plenty of pan sized bows in there . they also put in about 200 retired brooders in there yearly , they run about 16 - 20" lots of fun when you get them in the weeds . you're allowed 5 keepers. power bait, corn, shrimp, worms all seem to work well , i've found shrimp the best. fly fishers seem to have sucsess as well . great shore fishing-- campsites right there.electric motors or hand power only for those of you with craft. enjoy-- tight lines .

also pecker how far is Dickson trout pond from Calgary

its about hour 20 mins, take highway 2 north, til you get to the bowden pen or refinery turn off you turn off to go west off of highway 2, follow that highway and signs are everywhere, when you get to the town of dickson if the museum is on the right of you turn left and follow it and it takes you right there, you should be coming from the dam, well atleast thats the way i go, there may be an easier way, you could also go to innisfail and take the cottonwood road turnoff, but i find the bowden one faster
