Default Meat Grinder

Anyone try one of these grinders from princess auto?

https://www.princessauto.com/en/deta...er/A-p8707135e

https://www.princessauto.com/en/deta...er/A-p8379901e

Know it won't be as good as the LEM or Carnivore but for the price as long as it can handle a couple deer a year?

Thanks!

There was a thread on that Maple Leaf wearing Beaver gun site a few weeks back and the question was asked and some had great success with that item and when I suggested one check out CL I was ridiculed for such and absurd idea.
The idea being check for a good used commercial unit that is on the smaller side for industrial and it being large enough for home use.
My point was and is it depends on how much use it is going to get and I wouldnt use that one from PA for doing a Moose .
But, if it is a deer a season you get then it should be fine.
I doubt that one can operate at 50 pounds per hour or last more than a couple of seasons at the duty cycle I mention.
Where an industrial one is built for speed power and the ability to service for long life.

I have ahad a variation of this grinder. It was garbage. I blew through 2 or 3 of them over a 2 year period. I found they were SLOOOOOOOW at eating through a deer carcass. and for what ever reason the 3 I had were so loud I needed earmuffs to use them and only in the garage because it woke the whole house up.
It wasn't until I got tired of the garbage grinder and bought a bigger more efficient grinder. A cabelas 1HP Carnivore grinder. It chews through everything, doesn't slow down, and is super quiet. I could probably run it outside my 5 yr olds bedroom while she sleeps and she wouldn't wake up.
Though I do find, As I'm used to an industrial sized grinder at work, that even the 1HP is a little slower than I would like, but I can't be picky.

Buy a Carnivore, you won't be unhappy.

Costco has a 1hp grinder on for $299 right now. Used it on my elk and I could barely keep up with it. And it's Costco so if it craps out your covered.

I have the second one, bought it directly from https://www.northerntool.com/shop/to...1267_200451267. It is 13+ years now, we do not buy ground meat so ours is used weekly. (at least once). In general, we grind meat as needed.

I also have the second one bought from N.M. . Had it for at least 10 years and it's still going strong. Not the fastest grinder but will serve you well.
At the time I bought it because it had very good reviews.

That looks like an Omcan grinder.
If it's anything like mine, you'll never stop it with personal use.

I had that Northern Tool grinder as well and I wasn't impressed. Best thing going for it is the price. Mine broke after only three or four years, and even when it was working it was slower than I'd have liked for doing sausages. Now for game processing or home sausage making I wouldn't consider anything less than 1HP with a metal body.

I had the second one. It was ok, no faster than my #22 Trespade manual. I had to wear ear plugs to use it. Burned out after 2 seasons. Been using a LEM from Basspro for 8 years, no problems and much better performance. That Costco grinder looks interesting.

Brand on the box was Eurodib but looks like the one posted above. Came with 2 plates 6mm and 8mm and one blade. Was originally $399 but noticed last week its on clearance for $299.

Someone asked me via pm about the comments on that beaver web site, truth is I haven't been back to that derailed thread so as not to raise my blood pressure because someone took offence to my comments there.
Some self centred folks on that site I tell you.
Anyways, there wasn't much pros or cons, just a bunch of my idea is better than yours.
Check out PA, Cabelas and even Bass Pro for their machines and if time permits check out CL and or Kijji for schitz and giggles to find what is right for your kitchen.
