Calgary only scored 1 power play Goal and it was on a legitimate penalty, Both of Edmontons came on bogus calls, playing the puck and poking the gloves. 7 Goals 3 of the pp goals, hard to blame the refs for the Oil giving up 3 even strength and scoring zero. You needed the extra man everytime, even with your 2 handfuls of first rounders lol

And lol at you guys complaining about the refs... A couple weak calls but overall it wasn't that bad.

Three games in and the Oil have yet to have a lead in regulation...pretty sad for the fire power they have...

Normally I would say that without Kipper the lames would be nowhere but tonight they could have had a bag of pucks in front of the net because we hardly shot at it.

Congrats on the win Flames.

You played better than us tonight

The reffing still was aweful

Well since you asked, because the Flames are of the opinion that they are a playoff team which we both know is ridiculous. Any tradable asset they have is either sadled with a terrible contract or a no trade clause or both. Their "high end" talent is closer to 40 than 20 which isn't a good thing. Don't despair you'll remain good enough to finish just out of the playoffs which means you still won't get a top draft pick. They shoulda blew things up 3 or 4 years ago while your players still had trade value, instead they will languish in mediocrity until they hit rock bottom and finally start a rebuild...a rebuild will take 4 to 5 years as us Oiler fan know (we are still likely 2 years away)...That sir is why! You asked...

Good game, the Oilers lost, meh. A thought came to me tonight. I was wondering how this compressed, back to back games, 5 games in 7 days, yadda yadda shortened season is going to effect teams. Does this condensed season favour young teams like the Oilers and are older teams like the Flames at a disadvantage? Just a thought...........

It's gonna play a factor for sure, we'll see who's in shape. Probably going to be a pile of injuries unfortunately. Not sure if age is as big of factor as conditioning...

There are others way of undergoing a rebuild than following the Oilers model of being one of the worst teams in the league for the better part of 6 years.

Some franchises have to much pride to allow the team to be that bad for that long

Wow!! How come your not a GM somewhere? jk lol

Actually they have as good a shot at the playoffs as anyone, I really like the team they have right now, this years version is younger than last by a couple of years.
Once Hudler and Cervenka get used to there new surroundings there second line will be really good.
Flames have as many good prospects as any team right now, with D. Sutter gone they have been making some awesome drafts *****s
-Johhny Gaudreau is the #1 offensive player in the NCAA
-Sven Baertschi is here to stay
-Patrick Sieloff
-Markus Granlund
-Michael Ferland
-Ryan Howse
-Joni Ortio Goalie
-Laurent Brossoit Goalie
Etc.

The Flames don't have to finish last or anywhere near it to get 1st pick. Any of the 14 teams that don't make the playoffs are entered into a lottery for 1st overall pick, new change in the new CBA.
