Default Tip ups

Any suggestions on where to get more tip ups in the Red Deer area? Didn't think to check Cabelas when we were in Edmonton the other day. Would an Agro COOP or Peavey Mart carry them?

Check out the thread by Angler He was kind enough to give me a tip up of his as a gift! I caught 5 pike on it today. It works like a charm!

Don't cheap out on your tip ups. I bought cheap Berkeley ones and they freeze up. Sat on looking at my tip up wondering why I haven't caught a fish on it, decided to do a bait check and had a decent fish on. But it was to frozen up to spin. So I spent money one a good high quality one and hasn't froze once.

I have a black HT one and an orange Frabill insulated one. I would buy another Jaw Jacker before I bought these again. I would like to try the IFish Pro units as well.

Thanks buddy! I am glad it worked fine for you!
And yes, if you wanna build one yourself, you can do so watching the video I made here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9_BgrX3zylg
And again, instead of doing your own reel, you could use an old spool from fishing line, etc.

We built something similar when I was young, except the line went over a mousetrap. When a fish bit the trap was sprung, which jerked the line an inch or so. Springing the trap also set the flag, which were old utility locating flags.
