Default Skidoo Trailers

Hey guys I am thinking of getting a trailer for my skidoo for hauling around 2 sleds. Do you guys have any suggestions on what to get for lightweight and any other bells and whistles you find handy?

Any good places to look at buying in Edmonton area?

When I had my machines, I tried the tilt decks, drive on/off open sleds. Best investment I made was for a closed in trailer, drive in and out the side door. Add fuel doors and you're good to go. Great place to store the sleds in the off season, and keeps them out of the garage and out of the weather when not being used.

I had a cupboard for storing injection oil, extra belts, LED lights on the inside, nice and bright for doing minor repairs. Tool box bolted to the floor in the front and a spare tire mounted on the wall.

If you can go enclosed.

2 place drive on and off. Easy to load, unload, tows well and wont take up too much space on the homestead.
I use mine year round, sleds in winter and quads behind the 5'er in the summer.
The enclosed makes sense if you can get max value out of it. Not much good in the summer unless you are camping in it.

Hmmm, quasi out of site in the off season as well, I like it.

Depends on the $$ you want to spend. If just something to get by, I would go with a drive on/off. If $$ isn't an object then definitely go enclosed.

enclosed is really nice for keeping salt off of the sleds.

If you are thinking lightweight due to limits of tow vehicle careful going with enclosed; whatever the weight going to be pushing massive amounts of air vs an open low profile setup. Think popup vs fullsize camper air resistance.

Nube, I prefer to have sled on the truck when going to trapline. You get better traction for steep hills, nicer to turn around on logging roads and keeps salt and grime off sled. Also much less gas/ diesel to get to line than pulling enclosed trailer.

I was thinking in the back of my truck and love the idea of en enclosed but An enclosed isn't wide enough to have 2 skidoos in it and would have to be really long to put 2 in. I'm not into pulling a long trailer on lease roads on the trapline no way. I appreciate your thoughts guys. Nice to see what works for other guys. I think if I was staying on pavement an enclosed would be the way to go for sure.

They make side by side enclosed trailers. Axles go underneath. 8'6" wide and 16 feet long. two sleds fit side by side the nose is V shaped with a door out of one side of the V on the front.

Might be a bit of a trek for you but Mustang trailers out of Lethbridge makes a real nice product. A family run business. I have a 2 place trailer that hauls only atvs so far but is a snowmobile trailer. Tows very nice. Backs ups nicely for a short trailer.

Default trailers

There will be a lot of used stuff on the market I am sure. If you are going the new route, price everything out here then call SKL Trailers (1-866-650-4537) just south of Saskatoon. They blew every dealer in Alberta out of the water on pricing when I bought my enclosed trailer for goose hunting. Made it more than worth the short drive to go and get it. Good luck. (Can rent you a two place drive on drive off with front ramps that protect against road debris, if you need something right away)
