There is a saying, “garbage in garbage out”.....
It is important to structure your sentences with proper punctuation where it belongs. Right?
Furthermore it is paramount that people understand the regulations. If you are a licensed hunter ignorance of the regulations can get you in trouble. The hunting forums are full of people’s interpretations of the regulations but they are not always correct. The regulations do not tell you how to hunt wolves but the hunting forums and books can help you with that.
As to your original question, pretty much anything you have in your hands when out hunting. The .22 sized center fires are a tad light for less than perfect shots.
Best put in in the lung as to avoid big holes if you hit bone. Happy hunting.

lmao

sure was

love the .17 hmr thing Bob! i wouldn't hesitate either, run anything but the v-max and i'm sure your gtg, mine likes the cci 17 tnt i believe and sure has no issues with coyotes since they came out...at least a dozen years now i suspect

currently building up some rigs around the 6.5 Grendel, to me an ideal predator/deer combo cartridge capable of stretching out to 600, the .243 win would be a great combo choice also

i'd rather have a light hitter that can do more than just predators so stay .243/6mm or up imo

Because wolves are a good sized animal, and the shot can be long, I would choose a .25/06 for a designated wolf rifle. Good luck on getting one. Every that hits the ground helps.

When I think back on all the wolf encounters I have had over the years, almost all have been inside of thirty yards. What ever I happen to be carrying did the job. If I set out to actually hunt/call them I usually pack the 25 WSSM or the 240 WBY. Although I am liking the thought of poking one with some 45 grainers out of the 22-250.

Default wolves

I use Savage 223 stainless steel with plastic stock mounted on hood of skidoo in leather saddle scabard and clip for fast draw. Wolves do not give you much time so you need to be fast or no shot or only one hit. Rifle banging around on sled takes a beating.
