13” at Little Bow PP on Travers.

Ice is thinner at the resort, our RZR broke through 20yds off shore but we didn’t stop so we got out of it.

Spoke with an ice hut operator today on Lac La Biche. 24” and no snow cover. No problem getting out with a truck were his words.

Yes, we had a 1/2 ton on the ice, I drove the whole North area, no issues at all.

Was there 2 days ago and was surprised with the amount of snow. Ended up parking on shore and hauling the gear out on a sled. Mostly due to the drifts near shore was afraid of not being able to get off the lake and having no other trucks to help pull me out. Lake had small drifts from the wind but nothing a 4x4 halftone/suv couldn't handle.

Later in the day a braver fisherman behind the wheel laid first tracks through the deeper drift and managed with out a problem. I was able to drive on at the end of the day and pack up the gear.

Didn't measure the ice but was over a foot. Id estimate 15 inches or so.

Pic below to show snow cover on lake.

Default Beaver Mines Lake

Visited on 03 Jan. Beaver Mines Lake sucks! Fishing close to the parking lot is pretty much what everyone is doing. The lake has up to two feet of snow on it, a thin crust which you break through, a couple inches of water and then about 10 inches of ice. It's a real slog to get anywhere on the lake. Won't improve with the snow insulating the lake................unless a big wind takes all the snow away. A couple sled tracks on the lake.......infilled with water.

Default 40 Mile

Was on 40 Mile today. Fair bit of snow on top, nice dark 8" ice at the boat launch, 10" at the spillway. Pike and perch visible on the cam but very little action. Wife bonked pike on the head with the lure and he didn't even care!

Spent the afternoon at calling lake. Found lots of ice and good access. Trucks driving all over. Even saw a car on the ice.small ice heave on east shore where i drove on. Biggest problem was to catch a small enough walleye. Caught 4 ranging from 55.5 to 60cm before i got a keeper.

Was out at Stoney Lake today. 24" of ice. Looked like good ice. Some very clear spots. Hardly any snow cover.

24 inches on Wabamun today on the east side and south east corner, fishing was slow, saw a decent amount of fish on camera but they seemed to be in a negative mood, really had to work the handful I successfully landed.

10-14" decent ice but lots of snow on top. Nobody driving on. Fishing for us was decent, with several Bows over 16"!!

How's the access? Any heaves on the south like last year?

Default Wab

How’s Wabamun by Fallis at the moment? I haven’t fished there in a few years, hoping to get out tomorrow. Do we need an extension yet?

buddy was out there today and said there is a heave at shore, although he did manage to get over it with his Jeep. No hits on the tips ups, only a handful of small walleye caught.

Thanks. I’ve got a truck but I’ll walk out to take a peek first. I’ll bring the sled just in case.
