Default Hot tub dealer recommendations

Hi all,
Hoping to add a nice hot tub to the patio this fall.
Wondering where a guy would get the best price?
Thinking a smaller one 3-4 person. Just be me and the lady ever in it.

I’m a little leary of used ones. I see some deals, but you wonder what it’d be like once you get it home.

I’m in south west AB but can travel for the right deal.
Thanks

I would go for the larger one- in no time you will have friends joining you in it, trust me! The friends you havnt even known before, lol!
Plus, it’s always nice to have that extra room in the tub in case you want to play a little bit, hehehe…

Default tubs

In the edmonton area i had really good luck with spa depot.
The owner will come out and talk your ear off but i believe he had very good pricing and the service is excellent

What you might want to consider is WHEN you want your hot tub. There are some manufacturers who are selling other brands because they cannot get a Beachcomber tub to sell. There are tubs booked for two years out for delivery from what I was told by the Edmonton Southside Beachcomber store when I was in getting some parts for my tub this spring.

Beachcomber is selling two other makes, (Bullfrog and Century???) for this reason.

But if you are at all handy, get a used tub that has the pump and heater pack outside the tub, take the pack in for servicing and have added a UV light filter, and have the heaters changed out. The Pumps themselves seem to last forever.

Alot of used empty tubs get left on the patio until the owner sells the tub to make room. You can get a $14,000 tub for $2,500, get the pack serviced and you are still miles ahead.

And I second getting the biggest tub you can fit. For some reason women really like sitting in hot tubs and drinking wine. You will have company even if you don't plan on it.

Thanks for the advice folks.
I might have to re-think a used one and fix it up some.

I’m still leaning towards a smaller one.
I had a large one when the kids were still at home.
Just the two of us now though.
We’ll see.

Thanks again

My clock hasn’t worked from the beginning. Replaced once. I’ve had many leaks from joints loosening up.

Not pleased.

Had 2 in the past and waste of money in my opinion. Heating 1500L of water in -40.

Leaks always seemed to occur after emptying to leave out of service once restarting.

Honestly there is nothing to them, so I would purchase a good newer used model.

No doubt being in a hot tub feels good but they grose me out to the point I won’t go in one. I’d look at one but only if it was my wife and I using it and that’s it. Last thing I’d want is the kid using it with his girl friends then a bunch of boiled swimmers floating around in there…

Say it won’t happen but it would…

Go talk to Rudy at arctic spas in Lethbridge and tell them the guys at Aquateck sent you. They are great to deal with and have really nice hot tubs available.

We purchased ours form World of Spas Edmonton(there is a Calgary branch) last august. We purchased a Master Spas Twilight series. We are extremely happy with it, as well as with the dealership as well. Its amazing to sit in when its -30 and the tub is at 104 degrees. Or +30 and the tub is at 94 degrees.

I have a Arctic Spa and I think it is really well made but not impressed with customer service from Paradise Spas in Calgary. Probably treat you better if you buy a $25000 spa instead of a $8000 one

Had an Arctic Spa...
Not so bad if it's just you and Mrs, but add friends and family then water treatment is key. Filters, filters, filters.
If your tub is not covered, which is best for starry nights and light snow, the sun (UV) is hard on your insulated covers. Plus snow load pending location.
If away from home for any extended periods requires baby sitting or draining incase of power outage etc.

Was great after a long day on sleds or on the slopes. Kick back with a cold one and catch a hockey or football game from the tub.
Eventually faded.
Sold the tub and built a wood fired sauna instead.
Less headache and much preferred.
Have some of the best sleeps after a sauna.

Artic Spa held resale value when sold.

Yes and sauna is better for my sore joints as well. Plus my skin doesn’t turn raisin style. There is a design that is round and easy to move around with a glass lookout panel. Pm me for more info if interested.
