Yup and good luck doing it without gear ( even though Brett adamantly says he never used) with the travel schedule and lack of time off to recuperate…

I grew up with Dave's son. It was amazing to see all those wrestlers pull up to Dave's house in their Cadillac's for a Sunday BBQ....They were huge to a small kid.

Story:
When I was a kid my dad would get his haircut at the local barbershop and it was the same as Ruhl.

One day me and a few friends were inside the shop and Ruhl was in the chair.

We were asking what he was going to do to Sweet Daddy Seekie on Friday night?

Ruhl leaned over on one hip and pulled out several 3 1/2" spikes from his front pocket and it looked like he was bending one in half and gave each of us, a bent nail. He said "I am going to do this to Sweet Daddy."

I was in total awww. I went home and I could hardly bend one over in the bench vise with a hammer.

Later in my years after realizing what rastlin entertainment was, dad told me that Ruhl carried those already bent spikes in his pocket to give and impress the kids....

Hahahaha

In the mean time and in between time, thats all for Stampede Wrestling.

A lot of guys here are confusing Stampede Wrestling and early WWF but the WWF did absorb Stampede into its empire eventually.

Stampede was grassroots and wrestling at its finest.

WWF was more show and bright lights.

I liked Jimmy "Superfly Snuka" but he was WWF, not Stampede.

Yes for sure. There were many “grass root” territories in the states as well…

Stampede wrestling used to come to our hometown once in awhile. Flyin Brian Pillman was awesome. I remember one event, my brother in law was working security ring side. Mukhan Singh was stomping around with that flag and he smashed my BIL’s foot with it! Total accident! Then Mukhan yelled , this is what I do to security, wait til I get my hands on you!

Dad used to accept horses for the Calgary Spring Sale at the Pavilion. Dad knew Stu Hart a bit & Security would let me in from the back. Saw one of the good guys throw Abdullah the Butcher over the top rope. Couple old gals in the front row starts clubbing him with their umbrellas, just going wild. Quite a sight!

Used to go to Altantic Gran Prix Wrestling. Always entertaining!
Haven't noticed Killer Carl Krupp mentioned yet
