Default Lawyer recommendations for divorce advice around south of Calgary

Long story short, I need some advice on a separation agreement or a divorce. The spouse and I are currently waiting to hear back from a mediator to start that process.

Without all the details, I think I've been verbally abused into giving her everything, along with her threatening and abusing me in front of our 3 children, telling me they aren't mine. They aren't biologicaly per say, due to fertility issues on my part.

I'm worried if I leave her with the house, she'll flip it and skip province , or so those are the threats

I'm just south of Calgary and I'm thinking I need a lawyer at this point, or a open discussion with one so I know what I should be discussing further in mediation.

Any recommendations on a lawyer?

She can’t skip province without your consent.

It must be Sunday, time for the weeky lawyer recommendations thread. We need a sticky or something with a list of lawyers.

I believe they are legally your children regardless of whatever fertility treatment, including a sperm doner, as long as they were concieved under agreement between you and your spouse at time of conception.

PS do not leave your house until legally required or you are most likely to be considered to be abandoning your home and children. Which sounds exactly like what she's trying to do.

Ha, I searched a bit, and found some older threads, a lot of more recent stuff I saw was north of Red Deer. . where I believe the "real alberta outdoors" or so the outdooors that I am used to from central Ontario.

But maybe it doesn't matter where a lawyer resides these days.

Leaving the home isn't an option, as I said, I threw everything at her to try an make her happy, the house, and debt unfortunately is all in my name...

Money doesn't buy happiness, but the great outdoors sure does!

If you don't have your first year of power engineering, and a divorce, are you even an Alberta outdoorsman?
