Latest Taxidermy Work!
Well, i finally picked up a new camera and can download pics off my card and take some new ones of the stuff we've had done. Heres pics i've been promising . Have permits for everything and all is mine with one other article a family member had done (sheep, which i had a post up of once already). Anyone else had much done lately? I found the hen pheasant on the road and want to get a rooster done beside her in the future. Thats the main bird i want to get finished next season. I know pics never do mounts justice but the ideas are still clear.
Couldn't get clear photos of the one other mount i just picked up, next time i have camera down there i suppose. Anyone else had much done lately? I appreciate seeing different mounts and ideas.

Thanks for the comments.
"That pheasant mount you should get a white or green pheasant for it"
You mean like the really colorful ones they raise at pheasant farms? I've seen whitish ones in the wild but only other color variations within farming operations. I'm not a pheasant nut yet but would that refer to the color variations? Pretty good idea, i hadn't really considered that but it would be unique.

Hey Pack,
I use Top Notch Taxidermy in Coaldale.
RyanGsp, that would be a sweet bird to find in the wild. Probably could get a farmed rooster as well if neccesary. I'll have to check it out. I have not seen many different pheasant variations, just that whitish one by a release site one time.

I couldn't get anyone else to play guess that score in the other thread. Its been officially measured, any guesses?
I love trying to judge critters and seeing how close i come, i'm usually pretty far off but some guys on here have the scoring chip installed :lol .

Re: Side View
Barbwire, those are awesome owls!! Make incredable mounts.
As for the sheep score, everyones low and Packhuntr is the closest (guesse everyone could figure out that logic :lol ) . I'll post the score tonight, i'll see if i can actually find the meaurements so you can see where the points come from. So far everyone would be really pleased after pulling the trigger and walking up to this guy.... Quarter measurements indeed!!

Re: Side View
Well guys. Hate to say this but if your out hunting and the ram looks like that "SHOOT". Its a 200'' ram.
Both horns have over 40'' of curl,
Bases about 16.5''
First Quarter both 16'' and change
Second Quarter both 15'' and change
Third Quarters- one just under 11'' other is 12''
Figured someone who saw it a few years ago before mounting may have recognized it. Thats one ram human hunters never found. From what i understand Wolves or a grizzly killed him.
