Default Russian MRE

On a what the heck I ordered a MRE from Russia and was surprised as how good the food was. We buy assorted canned and package food for bug out or emergency rations in case of a disaster but thinking a case of MRE may be the way to go.

Was interesting trying items in the mre without knowing what excellently what the contents were.

Over all not bad.

These Russian MRE's are going for 40 to 90 bucks on Amazon. Doesn't say if that is for 1 days meal or? What did you get in your package?

It looks like it is $40 per meal or $65 per day. At that price I hope it includes good vodka and perogy.

You guys do realize I was not looking for the cheapest MRE I could find. I have viewed several MRE reviews on Youtube and it peaked my interest so I bought one to try it out. I was not disappointed and may try other MRE's from other countries just for the fun of it.

My daughter learned that when she was 17..... Got caught siphoning vodka from a bottle and filling it up with water to the level before. When I took it out of the freezer to enjoy with my friends- the content was frozen.... We had a good laugh!

I have no problem with that. The shipping cost kind of threw me though.
I have had a few from them and liked them. If the packaging is not compromised a couple of years would not throw me. They have some cool stuff on their site.

True, if Steve 1989 can eat an mre from 1944 I guess these would be fine. I would like to try some from other countries.

You can buy the Russian canned meat stew- tushenka- at any Russian store in Edmonton or Calgary. The one I like the most is beef. You can also get pork or chicken. It’s actually very tasty! When we have an empty fridge and need something in a hurry, we usually open one up, heat it up and serve with pasta, boiled potatoes(so good, my fave!) or rice. The cost is about $10 for a large can.

Tushobka is awesome but the price for it at the store bums me out. $10 for a can is a bit excessive.

On the unrelated note, since I'm too lazy to dig out the other thread... Have you been to the second banya yet? What do you think?

Yes I have. It has its own pluses and minuses. Depends on number of people going and if it’s a couples or just guys. We usually go with another couple and my preference would be the first banya...
