Default Tracking Devices to Prevent Theft Smaller Items

Has anyone found a good gps or cloud based tag tracking system around $30-40 a tag that can be used on rifles binoculars expensive tools etc? Apple tags come to mind but they are not super durable in the elements from what I understand. Also to help to find things if they get lost or misplaced.

Also looking for ones to put on other peoples vehicles to find the good fishing spots! Jk

One thing about these tags is that they rely on devices (smartphones) being nearby that are set up to read/share the location. So if your tagged item ends up in an area with a low population/density of participating smartphones they really are of little use.
